Fleas are parasitic insects on mammals and birds that are responsible for transmitting many diseases. In the 1700s, Martin Frobenius Ledermüller was delighted by these parasites, as well as many other creatures he observed using microscopes. He created a book that explored this microscopic world, “Microscopic Delights of the Mind and Eyes”, and used the talents of the publish, artist, and engraver Adam Wolfgang Winterschmidt.
